Leveraging over 11 million historical visits, the solution provides industry-first machine learning visit-by-visit analytics and personalized care recommendations

NASHVILLE, Tenn., October 24, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Using the power of machine learning to provide visit-by-visit analytics that ensure patients receive the right care at the right time, the Medalogix Pulse resource management solution is now available to healthcare providers at home across the country.

The development of Pulse has been spurred by the need to bolster what can be an inefficient and logistically overwhelming patient journey in home healthcare, as well as the growing demand for clinical resources given the shortage of staff in the industry. Medalogix Pulse is based on technology from their flagship products, Medalogix Care and Medalogix Muse. The Care solution showed a reduction in the hospitalization rate of almost 20%, as well as a reduction of 2.4 visits per episode. Clients using the palliative care solution, Muse, have reported up to an 82% increase in additional visits above the national average during end-of-life care.

“Pulse puts machine learning to work for patients and clinicians. Pulse is powered by data from every visit for every patient using OASIS, Vitals, Medications, Clinician Narrative Notes and more. Home care teams are leveraging our analyzes to develop patient-centered care plans,” says the President and CEO of Medalogix, Elliott Wood. “Pulse’s goal is to identify each patient’s risk of hospitalization after each visit and ensure that the right resources are going to the right patients, especially when the initial care plan changes due to new information. Our mission is to help patients have the opportunity to recover safely at home, and today we are delighted to announce that Pulse is now available to the wider market to further this mission.

Bud Langham is Executive Vice President of Clinical Excellence and Strategy for the dallasbased at Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, one of the nation’s largest providers and among the first to deploy Medalogix Pulse as a beta user. He says Enhabit’s clinical teams use data to make informed decisions about patient care, and that’s where Pulse provides great value.

“Medalogix Pulse is positioned to provide meaningful insight into patient status after each visit, including changes in patients’ risk of hospitalization,” Langham said. “With this capability, we can leverage Pulse to excel in home health value-based procurement while strengthening strategic partnerships with payers and ACOs in value-based relationships. The power of Pulse lies in its predictive analytics and risk stratification capabilities. Our healthcare teams become more efficient and much better equipped to ensure that every patient receives the level of care they need, when they need it.”

Medalogix Pulse finds patients most at risk and more than 10 times more likely to be hospitalized in the next two weeks than others counted. Today, more than 30% of all home care patients in the United States are supported by Medalogix products.

Other Pulse features include risk-based recertification and exit guidance, as well as a preview of upcoming non-critical Low Usage Payment Adjustments (LUPAs). More information about Pulse is available at
