Kendall Jenner shows her support for Ukraine by sharing resources on Instagram

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has drawn criticism from countries like the United States, United Kingdom and many others who are coming forward to support Ukraine against the calamity. There are also several celebrities openly using their voices for a noble cause, as this Ukraine disaster continues to dig deeper.

Amid the Putin-induced Ukraine crisis, actress/model Kendall Nicole Jenner has come forward to show her support for Ukraine and its citizens.

On Friday, Kendall posted several resources via her Instagram stories and links to donate money to help Ukrainians in need. “Following the Kardashians star,” Kendall used her 220 million follower platform to raise funds as well as social awareness among her followers, including @careorg.

Kendall has already used her celebrity status for several worthy causes. She ran a campaign on her 22nd birthday to raise money for Charity Water. She donated to fund 25 wells in Ethiopia that brought clean water to 5,000 people. The project successfully reached nearly $70,000.

At the 2018 People’s Choice Awards for “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” the Kardashians used their acceptance speech to raise awareness for wildfire relief efforts.

“Action is needed, so anything people can do to help will be appreciated,” they added. It doesn’t matter if it’s as simple as donating to the many organizations collecting supplies, because no form of aid is small,” Kendall Jenner said.

Additionally, she has volunteered at many rallies in the past to support women’s rights, anti-violence, and more.

Sunflower of Peace ships first aid, medical and tactical backpacks for paramedics and medics on the front lines.

Each backpack is designed for groups of 5-10 people and includes bandages, hemorrhagic drugs, medical instruments and means of survival in extreme conditions.

For support to children: Voices of Children Provides psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by war.

Anhelyk Foundation San Francisco-based charity that supports children of families whose parents died fighting in eastern Ukraine. (“Anhelyk” means angel in Ukrainian)

For daily needs: Nova Ukraine accepts donations of clothes, shoes, household items, hygiene products, baby food, diapers and medicines. You can also volunteer to deliver, in case you live near San Francisco Bay and have a truck or van.

For the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Save Life An NGO that helps equip the armed forces on the front lines, investing mainly in the provision of necessary technology and protective equipment. The Organization provides reports on all purchases and deliveries.

American celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Angelina Jolie also use their platform with millions of followers to raise awareness and funds to support Ukraine’s defense against Russia. Here is the list of other stars who support Ukraine and how? Read below:

Angelina Jolie

In her recent Instagram post, Angelina Jolie shared that she was praying for the people of Ukraine. “My goal, together with my fellow @refugees, is that everything is done to ensure the protection and basic human rights of displaced people and refugees in the region,” she added.

She said things are still unpredictable, “but the importance of this moment for the Ukrainian people cannot be overstated.”

Shannen Doherty

While author/actor Shannen Doherty, who also backs campaigns for war heroes and cancer patients, asked people to pay attention and speak out on this issue. “I can’t believe celebrities and influencers post about their latest hit or their new bag when kids, dads, moms, sons, daughters get killed,” Shannen Doherty wrote on Instagram.

She reminded fellow celebrities as well as people to use social media as a powerful weapon to raise awareness. She ended with: “Ukraine, I pray for you Ukraine.”

Gigi Hadid

The American model expressed her devastated feelings in an Instagram Story: My heart aches for Ukraine and everyone affected by this unimaginable reality. She feared that Putin’s actions posed a threat to every democratic country in the world.

She continued, “I pray that the support from other countries can give Ukrainians what they voted for and what they deserve. The Peach. Peace. Peace. NOW UKRAINE.

Gigi is one of the celebrities, who has used her voice many times, including at pro-Palestine, anti-Trump Immigration Rally protests in the past.

Sean Penn

Meanwhile, director Sean Penn flew to Ukraine to film the crisis. According to a statement from the Office of the President of Ukraine, “the director came to Kyiv especially to record all the events currently taking place in Ukraine and to tell the world the truth about Russia’s invasion of our country.”

The statement further adds “Sean Penn is among those supporting Ukraine in Ukraine today.” Our country is grateful to him for such a display of courage and honesty.
