Holding GE15 only if BN is ready has support of majority of Malaysians, says Annuar | Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 – The Barisan Nasional (BN) must be truly ready and have the support of the majority of the people for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to dissolve Parliament to allow the 15th General Election (GE15) to be held. ).
Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who agreed that the time had come to start preparing for GE15, said the best thing to do now was to consider all relevant issues, including public opinion.
“If we are really ready, I think it should be accelerated. The date (for GE15) is at the discretion of the Prime Minister after holding internal talks with the Umno Supreme Council,” Annuar wrote in a post on his Facebook page today.
He was commenting on the Prime Minister’s statement that the GE could not stand only because of the insistence of a small group and that, on the contrary, the election was a big affair which required discussions as well as the preparation of various aspects and related parties.
Annuar said Ismail Sabri’s reaction reflected the wisdom and political maturity of a prime minister as the GE was no small feat, what more to dissolve a government in power with the mandate of almost all members by Dewan Rakyat.
He said that the Prime Minister represents a minority party, namely 42 of the 116 coalition seats in Parliament, which has a total of 222 seats, and that as such, the discussions in the government must be taken into account. .
According to Annuar, the date of dissolution of Dewan Rakyat must be a top secret of the ruling party and remain at the discretion of the Prime Minister, and not decided by organized pressure.
Elaborating, Annuar said that for the GE15 to be held, there would need to be a high-level leadership responsible for preparing the party in terms of resources, logistics, finance, organization and strategy.
He also said that BN’s victories in the Melaka and Johor elections last November and yesterday respectively were due to the fact that the party leadership knew their readiness regardless of the feelings of the people to support the government’s decisions in State.
“At the central level, these feelings must be examined because if something else is done than (according to) people’s feelings, they will show their reactions through the ballot box,” he said.
Annuar also said that the results of the two national elections were also due to the support of the party headquarters, prime minister, ministers and deputy ministers, chief ministers and heads of divisions nationwide, which is unmatched by any other party.
“In the GE, this will not happen because everyone will be busy tending to their own areas and if the preparations, especially the resources and the finances, are insufficient, then the whole machinery will be completely paralyzed,” Annuar said. . — Bernama
