HOUSTON, Oct. 27, 2021 / PRNewswire / – BMC, a global leader in software solutions for the digital autonomous enterprise, today announced several new BMC Helix and Control-M innovations that extend data science across the enterprise to achieve more value and insight and better serve customers, while increasing agility and resilience.

“Organizations are realizing that just putting a lot of diverse data in the cloud or a data lake will not magically create meaningful information – not without additional integration, transformation, enrichment and orchestration,” wrote Christmas Yuhanna, vice president, senior analyst at Forrester.1 “Providing connected data through hybrid and multicloud sources is not trivial, especially with increasing data volumes, complexity and the need for rapid ingestion … Organizations want to democratize data to empower users professionals access and operate all the data themselves to support faster and more accurate business decisions … “

New innovations from BMC help customers accelerate their efforts to become a Digital Autonomous Enterprise (ADE), a framework that embraces intelligent technology systems across all facets of the business to thrive during earthquake changes. Today’s announcements put data at the center and allow customers to:

  • Improve the performance of critical services with real-time information: The Control-M Workflow Insights solution provides deep observability of application and data workflows to continuously monitor and improve the performance of the workflows that power critical business services. With telemetry data gathered from the behavior of application and data workflows, organizations can now continuously optimize workflow and resource consumption.
  • Access the benefits of workflow orchestration through popular cloud service tools: BMC introduces new integrations for its Control-M solution. Using the robust data processing capabilities of cloud environments, Control-M simplifies workflow orchestration for leading PaaS offerings, including AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow and Function, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and other integrations of the data ecosystem such as Databricks and UI Path.
  • Offer immersive and engaging customer and employee experiences: The new BMC Helix Digital Workplace offers a seamless employee experience with a personalized workspace for teams designed to meet their needs and wants. Content and context can be customized with the user interface layer specially created to support different functions and lines of business within an organization.
  • Obtain service assurance with intelligent automation: The BMC Helix offering for Communication Service Providers (CSP) is the first vertical product specifically designed by BMC to meet the evolving needs of CSPs. It provides critical intelligent service assurance solutions that meet today’s CSP requirements with the scalability and modularity to meet future goals. It offers 360-degree service assurance with a contactless Network Operations Center (NOC), all from the BMC Helix platform that combines AIOps with intelligent automation in a single pane of glass.
  • Provide flexibility in the data persona workflow by applying DevOps practices to DataOps: The Control – M Python client is a new offering incubated in BMC Innovation Labs. The client is an easy-to-use tool that offers automation integration with data science and data engineering tools and open source code. Data characters can define and run their data pipelines and create workflows in Control-M using Python with flexibility and speed.
  • Gain agility with ServiceOps: The BMC Helix solution uniquely delivers ServiceOps, which provides a transparent and unified environment for delivering excellence in IT services and operations management. Supporting traditional IT and DevOps initiatives, ServiceOps helps organizations improve DevOps processes and increase agility by using AI to predict change risks using service and operational data, support cross-functional collaboration and automatically recommend problem resolutions.

BMC’s latest innovations continue to build on previous announcements of new mainframe DevOps solutions introduced earlier this month and on BMC’s strategic acquisition of StreamWeaver. The acquisition adds new data integrations for BMC Helix Operations Management with AIOps, as well as event situations based on AI / ML and root cause isolation, as well as intelligent and automated resolution of detected issues.

“Organizations improve their business results by adopting a data mindset and supporting a systematic approach to data strategy, architecture, operations and execution,” said Ali Siddiqui, product manager at BMC. “New BMC Helix and Control-M innovations put data in the hands of organizations so they can better serve their own customers, while adapting to the change needed by their own transformations.
